4th Annual Mark Flugge Memorial Jazz Concert at Mees Hall, Capital University, 1 College and Main, Columbus, OH
Join us for the fourth annual celebration of the life and music of local jazz pianist, composer, and bandleader Mark Flugge! This concert of his compositions, arrangements of his compositions, and other notable jazz tunes in his memory brings together the jazz-loving community to sponsor each year's student recipient of the Capital University Mark Flugge Jazz Award. We are delighted to have Vaughn Wiester's Famous Jazz Orchestra as the house band; they will play recently completed commissioned arrangements of Mark's tunes by renowned jazz artists John Fedchock, Mark Lopeman, Paul Ferguson, and Chas Baker. Mark's CDs will be on sale, featuring the new 12/17 release "A Chamber Jazz Christmas: Mark Flugge Remembered"- if you missed getting your copy in December, now's your chance!
