Flugge-Price Tribute Concert with the Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, The Redmoor; 3187 Linwood Ave., Cincinnati, OH
Thursday, 4/28 at 8 pm "A Tribute to Flugge and Price" The Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra celebrates the music of Mark Flugge and Joseph Price, under the direction of Rob Parton. Among the arrangements of Mark's tunes that may be performed are Mark's "Drivin' the Bus" and "Blessings", Bill Dobbins' "Around Every Corner", Bob Larson's "Feeling, Not Words", Kim Pensyl's "Beatrice the Cat", and new arrangements by Bob Larson ("Action Planet"), Mark Lopeman ("A Solidao Bonita"), and John Fedchock ("The Borderland" and "Soiree"). I plan to join the CCJO for a couple of flute parts- what an honor! Thank you to the Famous Jazz Orchestra and the Mark Flugge Memorial Fund for commissioning these arrangements and making them available to the CCJO for this performance.
