Our faculty woodwind quintet, the QuintEssential Winds, will perform a dramatic program including Valerie Coleman's Tzigane (based on Hungarian/gypsy dance motifs), Marsha Schweitzer's arrangement of Brahms' How Lovely is the Dwelling Place (from his German Requiem), the premiere of Christopher Weait's new arrangement of Mark Flugge's "Blessings", and Foerster's opus 95, a true Romantic quintet masterpiece. Gail Lehto Zugger, clarinet; Kimberly McCann, horn; new member Betsy Sturdevant, bassoon; and guest oboist Melissa Stevens.
