Visiting the new Haynes Flute Factory in Boston

A few days ago I had the pleasure of accepting the invitation of the Haynes Flute Company to fly to Boston, tour their new flute factory, and try out their various flutes, all in celebration of the 125th anniversary of the founding of this historic company.  The oldest continuously operating flute company in the world, Haynes has always been renowned for the quality of their instruments and the lyrical, silky sound they possess.  I am happy to report their new flutes build on these strengths; I found them to possess a strength and resonance of sound, terrific smoothness of keywork, and a very even scale.  Anyone considering buying a new flute should definitely check these out; from the beginning models through intermediate, Conservatory, and the fully-made professional models, these are quality instruments that a flutist of any level would be delighted to perform on!  I have my eye on a solid gold model.  ( ;
