Mark Flugge wrote this for our group, The Flying Colors Duo, in 2010. We have performed it at the Bungalow Jazz Concert Series, at Mark's Faculty Recital at Capital University, at the University of Ohio, at Western Michigan University, at Capital University's 2011 NOW Festival, and at the National Flute Association's 2011 Annual Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. The parts are now published and available for purchase! All parts are written out, but there are sections for optional improvisation, if you are so inclined. This piece opens with Bolling-inspired lyricism and soon descends into a darkly virtuosic boogie-woogie. Very fun for both performers and audience- a great closer!
