Bill Evans, arranged for Flute and Piano by Mark Flugge

"B Minor Waltz (for Ellaine)" is one of jazz piano legend Bill Evans' lesser-known masterpieces; here we present Mark Flugge's arrangement, with the flute given Evans' right-hand improvised solo from the 1977 recording You Must Believe in Spring.  Evans played flute at Southeastern Louisiana College and subsequently in the Fifth Army Band at Fort Sheridan, Illinois.  His improvisatory style fits the flute tessitura very well.  Ellaine was Evans' common-law wife.
