How wonderful to be done with classes and have time to reflect on the last year's performances and inspirations, and think about what would be the most fun and insipiring to perform this next year!  A couple of commissions are in the works; it's thrilling to be a part of the creation of new repertoire, though our role as performers is of course incidental to the composers.  It looks like we'll have another exciting Inspirare Duo concert (with Gail Lehto, clarinet) in September, then hopefully my faculty recital in January (looking like lots of woodwind chamber music, very cool), and then I have proposed a Festival of Le Six at Capital in March: 3 concerts of music by the famed French group of composers in Paris in the early 20th century, plus music by their influences.  It's looking like an exciting year ahead!  The Ashland Symphony has also asked me to perform Bach's Brandenburg Symphony No. 4 in March, plus the chamber version of Copland's "Appalachian Spring".  Lots of great music to look forward to.
